4 Easy Tips To Impress Your Friends And Improve Your Game

One of the highest tariff shots in the game of Golf must be the 'Flop' shot - when it comes off it is incredibly effective and spectacular, but if you get it wrong, you can leave yourself 50 yards and more away from the intended target. Let's face it, this is a shot that can make you feel pretty embarrassed if it's not executed properly and it's why a lot of us club golfers prefer not to risk it.

This is a shame because there are times when it can really get you out of a tight spot, such as when you have an obstacle in your way between your ball and the pin, with little room to land the ball before the Flag and no chance of leaving the ball even remotely close to the hole with a conventional golf chip shot with ghost spider putter. Or maybe the green slopes away from you after the bunker and you need a really soft landing to give you even a hope of stopping the ball quickly.

This is where the flop shot comes into its own and it can save you a lot of shots - we've all marveled at Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson playing these delicate wonder shots and most of us just assume that we don't have the skill to play this, but the following 4 easy tips have allowed me to play a great percentage of successful Flop shots with taylormade ghost spider putter and I'll be the first to admit that my game bears little resemblance to Phil's or Tiger's!...

* Firstly, you do need a reasonable lie with some grass under the ball to play this shot - it's best not attempted from a very hard or tight lie.

* Choose your most lofted wedge and set up as though you are going to play a green-side bunker shot - stand so that the ball lies roughly just forward from the middle of your stance, with your weight evenly distributed between both feet. You check your intended target line and then set up so that your stance is quite open in relation to the target line by approximately 25-30 degrees. At the same time, and to compensate for the fact that your stance is open, you also need to lay open the face of your taylormade atv wedge when you address the ball.

* You are aiming to slide the open club face under the ball so that it it flies straight up into the air very quickly and steeply and lands very softly - you keep the club face open throughout the execution of the shot.

* The key to this shot is that you take a swing and follow through fully, so that the open taylormade atv wedge review slides and cuts right under the ball. You must not be tempted to quit on the shot at impact, otherwise you will catch the ball very thin and it will fly away from you.

You need to practice this before you go out onto the course, but if you do and you put these simple tips into operation, you will be rewarded with some delightfully delicate flop shots, which will really help your scoring. And believe me, your friends will be impressed!
